EFF’s Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma Fires Back at Ramaphosa Over Warning Against Unrest

EFF leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has strongly criticized President Cyril Ramaphosa’s recent warning that those inciting unrest will be punished, accusing him of trying to silence opposition voices.

In a sharp rebuttal, Jecinta argued that the president’s statement deflects attention from what she called government failures and growing public dissatisfaction. She suggested that unrest stems from systemic issues like poor service delivery and inequality, rather than criminal intent.

Ntlanti questioned the moral standing of the warning, recalling the ANC’s own history of mobilization against past injustices. She vowed that the EFF would not be intimidated by threats of state action.

The exchange marks another escalation in tensions between the ruling party and the opposition as South Africa approaches a heightened political period. Ntlanti’s response signals the EFF’s intent to keep challenging the government’s approach to dissent and public discontent.
