Paul O’Sullivan Refuses In-Person Testimony, Calls MK Party “Founded by Criminals”

Forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan has again refused to appear in person before a parliamentary committee, dismissing demands from MK Party MP Sibonelo Nomvalo and criticizing the party’s origins.

Nomvalo accused O’Sullivan of acting like a “spoiled brat” and showing disrespect for Parliament by insisting on testifying virtually before the Ad Hoc Committee investigating misconduct in the criminal justice system.

O’Sullivan, speaking from abroad, rejected the criticism and said he has “zero respect for politicians belonging to a party founded by criminals,” explicitly referring to MK Party founder and former President Jacob Zuma.

He added that the MK Party has been “unlawfully interfering in the criminal justice system” and should not involve itself in matters it “does not understand.”

O’Sullivan maintains he is willing to testify remotely but will not return to South Africa to appear in person, citing security concerns. The committee has insisted on his physical attendance and authorized a subpoena to compel him.

The standoff continues as the committee seeks testimony on allegations of corruption and political interference within law enforcement agencies.
