EFF leader Julius Malema and MK Party MP David Skosana clashed during a parliamentary committee meeting over whether to summon judges accused of corruption without evidence.

Skosana argued that judges named in allegations should be investigated like any other witness, even without supporting proof. Malema dismissed the call as “posturing” and challenged Skosana to name specific judges, accusing him of being a “coward.”

Malema warned against tarnishing the entire judiciary with unsubstantiated claims, noting that no credible evidence against judges had emerged during the inquiry. He clarified that his own grievance was limited to the Constitutional Court’s handling of the Phala Phala case.

Skosana retorted that Malema was protecting judges because he faces a court sentencing later this month. Committee chairperson Soviet Lekganyane intervened, stating the committee would formally consider the allegations next week and decide whether to call witnesses.
