Two men were killed in a shoot-out with police in Uvongo on Monday morning. The deceased have been identified as Mlondi Zithumane, owner of Gasela Protection Services, and an unnamed security guard.
According to provincial police spokesperson Captain Ntathu Ndlovu, the men were fatally wounded after engaging police in an exchange of gunfire. Five unlicensed firearms, including two AK-47 assault rifles, were recovered at the scene.
The police operation is ongoing, and further details are expected to be released as the investigation proceeds.
