Cape Town’s Old School, founded by brothers Daneel and Stef Steinmann in 2018, launched official Bafana Bafana merchandise on Monday, featuring high-quality polos at R1,999 and tees at R949 that nod to the team’s classic white kits with green, yellow, and black stripes.
Backlash hit fast, with supporters rallying behind Johannesburg’s Kasi Flavour10—run by Kabelo Kungwane, son of Bafana legend Isaac ‘Shakes’ Kungwane—which released a similar 1999/2000 knit in early December 2024 for R2,500 and has long archived SA football culture. While some defend Old School’s licensed designs and sharper quality, others push boycotts, urging loyalty to township roots over big-resources brands.
