A witness who recently testified before the Madlanga Commission has been shot and killed in Brentwood Park, Ekurhuleni.
Police confirmed the shooting on Friday evening. The scene in the Brenthurst area was active and still being secured when authorities were notified.
The Madlanga Commission is the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Criminality, Political Interference, and Corruption in the Criminal Justice System.
Based on prior testimony, it is believed the victim may be “Witness D,” who alleged that Julius Mkhwanazi instructed someone to dispose of a suspect’s body in a dam. The witness’s identity and full testimony have not been officially released.
