The results for the leadership of the ANC’s Greater Johannesburg region are expected to be announced this morning after a tightly contested conference.
Voting concluded on Thursday with 301 accredited delegates casting their ballots at the regional conference in Sandton.
The key contest is for Regional Chairperson, where Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero is competing against the city’s Finance MMC, Loyiso Masuku.
Other significant races include Eunice Mgcina facing Masilo Serekele for Deputy Chairperson, and Lebogang Shabalala challenging the incumbent Secretary, Sasabona Manganye.
The new leadership will guide the party’s strategy in South Africa’s economic hub.
