Two more suspects have been extradited from Eswatini and appeared in a Durban court in connection with the murders of musician Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane. This brings the total number of accused individuals to seven.
KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lt General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi stated that the investigation is now focused on finding out who financed the alleged hit. He explained that the suspected coordinator of the operation, Muziwethemba Gwabeni, received a payment into his business account and then distributed funds to the others involved.
Police are now working to identify who deposited the money into that account, aiming to find the person or people who may have ordered the killings.
The two latest suspects, brothers Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, will remain in custody until their next court appearance on November 25. They also face separate murder charges for other killings that took place in Durban in 2022 and 2023.
