Egyptian football club Zamalek SC has been given a transfer ban by FIFA due to unresolved financial disputes. The ban prevents the club from registering new players until the matters are settled.
This comes at a challenging time for the club, which is currently on a four-match winless streak in its domestic league and recently parted ways with its coach.
The ban could impact Zamalek’s performance in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup, where they are in the same group as South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs. The two teams are scheduled to play on November 3.
For Kaizer Chiefs, the situation may offer a competitive advantage as they face a Zamalek side unable to strengthen its squad. The financial issues add to the existing pressures on the Egyptian club as the tournament begins.
