South Africa’s national football team coach, Hugo Broos, has explained why he stopped trying to organize meetings with all Premier Soccer League coaches together. The Bafana Bafana coach revealed that despite four attempts to arrange such meetings through the PSL, all were cancelled by the league.
Broos said the PSL never sent invitations to clubs for the final attempted meeting, prompting him to abandon the effort. “I’m not a fool,” Broos stated, explaining he wouldn’t continue trying after repeated rejections.
However, the Belgian coach noted recent improvements in his relationships with individual club coaches. He mentioned positive communications with coaches from Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, who have since reached out to him directly.
Broos said he has now met separately with several coaches, including Mamelodi Sundowns’ Miguel Cardoso and others. He emphasized that this individual approach represents how communication should work, even though he won’t be attempting another group meeting with all PSL coaches.
