A 20-year-old pupil in Limpopo has been arrested for allegedly pouring boiling water on a 19-year-old male classmate after he denied her accusation that he had touched her private parts.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the violent incident occurred on October 26 during a school examination preparation camp in Seleteng Village. Preliminary reports indicate the victim was asleep in a classroom when the suspect approached him, made the accusation, and left after he denied it. She then returned with a container of boiling water and poured it over him.

The victim sustained serious burn wounds and is currently receiving medical treatment. Following an investigation, the alleged perpetrator was arrested on October 31. She has been charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) and is scheduled to appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Police confirmed that their investigation into the matter is ongoing.
