Hidden Truth Exposed: Witness’s Phone Call With Top Cop Leaves Commission in Total

A telephone recording between Witness B and Sedibeng District Commissioner Mbangwa Nkhwashu was played before the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria, revealing what investigators have described as potentially critical evidence in the ongoing inquiry into alleged police misconduct and interference in law enforcement operations.

The commission, chaired by Justice Madlanga, is probing deep-seated concerns within the police hierarchy, including claims of political manipulation, corruption, and the obstruction of criminal investigations. The newly surfaced audio is said to capture a sensitive exchange between the two parties, shedding light on possible irregular communication between senior police officials and witnesses.

While the exact contents of the conversation have not been publicly disclosed, sources close to the proceedings described the recording as “highly revealing”, with implications that could influence upcoming testimonies. The commission reportedly paused the session for legal teams to analyse the audio and determine its admissibility as evidence.

Commission spokespersons declined to comment on the specifics of the recording but confirmed that it forms part of a broader body of material being reviewed to uncover systemic abuse of authority within the police service.

Legal analysts say the revelation could mark a turning point in the inquiry, as it may corroborate allegations of internal manipulation and witness coaching within high-level investigations.

Justice Madlanga emphasised the need for transparency, urging all parties to cooperate fully with the process. “The integrity of our policing system depends on truth and accountability,” he said.

The hearing is expected to resume later this week as cross-examination on the recording continues.
