EFF leader Julius Malema has publicly criticized Zandile Dabula, the leader of Operation Dudula, following a television interview.

The criticism came after Dabula was asked on eNCA to explain the term “Frontline States.” This term refers to southern African countries that supported the fight against apartheid. In her response, Dabula did not address the historical meaning and instead began talking about the Freedom Charter and internal issues within her own organization.

Malema later shared a clip of the interview on social media. He expressed his frustration, calling the interview “rubbish” and “proper garbage.”

Operation Dudula, led by Dabula, is known for its campaigns against undocumented migrants. The group has faced criticism for its methods, which include protesting against migrants’ access to healthcare and education. Dabula has stated that the group’s goal is to ensure immigration laws are followed.

Malema’s comments have highlighted the ongoing political disagreements in South Africa regarding immigration and historical knowledge.
