On Thursday, the Sheriff of the Court confiscated office furniture, computer equipment, and culinary appliances from the ANC’s headquarters, Luthuli House, in Johannesburg, with a total value of approximately R140,000. Following the party’s alleged failure to satisfy a long-standing debt, the action has further underscored its deteriorating financial situation.
Herman Mashaba, the leader of ActionSA, expressed his disbelief at the development, querying how a ruling party with numerous wealthy benefactors could permit such a situation to occur. “There is certainly an underlying illogicality in this situation.” The ANC has a significant number of Dollar Billionaires and Millionaires who have gained their fortunes as a result of their service as ANC Cadres.
