New Revelations Emerge in Former SA Minister’s Death, Challenging Earlier Reports

Fresh details have surfaced regarding the death of former South African Minister and Ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa, casting doubt on initial reports surrounding the circumstances of his passing.

Earlier accounts suggested that Mthethwa, 58, had died by suicide after his body was discovered outside the Hyatt Regency hotel in Paris. French authorities initially reported that the window of his 22nd-floor room had been forcibly opened, and the ambassador had sent a distressing message to his wife the night before his disappearance.

However, a new report by Newzroom Afrika indicates that investigators have uncovered evidence contradicting the suicide theory. According to sources close to the investigation, forensic analysis and surveillance footage may point to alternative scenarios, prompting authorities to broaden their inquiry.

This development has sparked renewed interest and concern among South African officials and the public, many of whom are calling for a thorough and transparent investigation. President Cyril Ramaphosa has reiterated the importance of respecting the family’s privacy while ensuring that all facts are brought to light.

Mthethwa’s family, still reeling from the loss, has confirmed that preparations for his burial in South Africa are underway, with the likely date expected to be announced soon.

As tributes continue to pour in for the late ambassador, the nation watches closely for further updates on the investigation, hoping for clarity and justice in the wake of this tragedy.
