Rise Mzansi, BOSA, and the GOOD Party have announced a merger to create a new political party, Unite for Change, which will contest the 2026 local government elections.
A full legal merger will take place after 2029, as the parties are currently represented in parliament and provincial legislatures. The new party aims to present a unified alternative and focus on community-based leadership and a merit-driven candidate selection process.
