Total Collapse if Nothing Is Done – Madlanga Commission Warns of Big Danger to South Africa’s Justic

Former acting police commissioner Mkhwanazi has raised a serious warning about the condition of South Africa’s justice system. He believes that the Madlanga Inquiry will be very important because it can help prevent the system from completely breaking down.

Mkhwanazi explained that the country’s justice system has been under pressure for a long time. He said it has faced threats and sabotage for years, and if nothing is done, there is a real danger that the system could collapse. He pointed out that this collapse would affect the entire country because people would lose faith in the police and in the law.

He spoke about issues of corruption, political influence, and interference in police work. According to him, the Political Killings Task Team and other crime units cannot do their jobs properly when politics and corruption get in the way. This weakens the fight against crime and creates fear among ordinary citizens.

Mkhwanazi also explained why he held a press conference on July 6. He said he wanted the people of South Africa to know about the real problems the police were facing when trying to fight crime. He made it clear that this was not only his view, but the shared view of many police officers who feel frustrated.

His message was that the country must act quickly before the justice system reaches a point where it cannot be fixed. He believes that strong action and reforms are needed to stop corruption and political interference, so that the police can protect the public and keep order in society.

Mkhwanazi: “It has been my aim that I want to demonstrate that the criminal justice system has been subject to a continuous threat as well as sabotage, which has been with us for an extended period, to a point where we believe it is a real risk of a total collapse if nothing is done.”
