Kelly Khumalo Slams Jub Jub & Yende as Deadbeats Praises Senzo Meyiwa

South African songstress Kelly Khumalo has once again made headlines after addressing the fathers of her children and opening up about her personal journey as a mother. In a recent revelation, Kelly did not hold back when she described rapper Jub Jub and former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mthokozisi Yende as “deadbeat fathers,” while reserving praise for her late partner, the celebrated goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa.

Kelly Khumalo is a mother of three. Her first child, Christian, was fathered by Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye. The pair’s relationship has long been marred by controversy, legal battles, and public feuds. Despite Jub Jub’s attempts at reconciling with his son in the past, Kelly has consistently maintained that he has failed to take responsibility as a father. In her recent comments, she reinforced this view, insisting that his absence in their child’s life speaks louder than any public statements he makes.

Her second child, Thingo, was fathered by the late Senzo Meyiwa, the Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper who was tragically killed in 2014. Unlike her remarks about Jub Jub and Yende, Kelly spoke warmly of Senzo, acknowledging him as a devoted father during his lifetime. She expressed gratitude for the bond he managed to build with Thingo before his untimely death and credited him for embracing fatherhood despite the pressures of his professional career.

Kelly’s youngest child is with former footballer Mthokozisi Yende, who, according to her, has shown little to no involvement in their baby’s upbringing. In a candid statement, she described both Yende and Jub Jub as absent and unaccountable, contrasting them sharply with Meyiwa’s commitment. Her choice of words, labeling them “deadbeats,” sparked conversations across social media, with fans divided between supporting her openness and questioning whether such matters should be discussed publicly.

Despite the controversy, Kelly Khumalo remains steadfast in her identity as a single mother who has shouldered the full responsibility of raising her children. Over the years, she has often spoken about resilience, faith, and the importance of protecting her family. By naming and shaming the fathers she considers negligent, Kelly has reignited debates around fatherhood, accountability, and the struggles many women face in similar circumstances.

Her praise for Senzo Meyiwa, however, also reminded South Africans of the ongoing pain surrounding his unsolved murder. While his legacy lives on through his daughter and his football achievements, questions about justice and closure remain.

Kelly Khumalo’s latest remarks show that, beyond the stage and spotlight, she continues to navigate complex personal challenges — speaking her truth unapologetically, as she has always done throughout her career.
