Acclaimed South African house music producer DJ Chymamusique is fighting for his life in an intensive care unit (ICU) following a devastating car accident that claimed the life of fellow artist DJ Poizen.

According to close sources, the accident occurred over the weekend while the two artists were travelling together after a performance. Details surrounding the cause of the crash remain under investigation, but authorities confirmed that DJ Poizen was declared dead at the scene while Chymamusique sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital.

Born Collen Mmotla, Chymamusique has carved out a celebrated career in South Africa’s music industry, earning respect for his soulful house sound and collaborations with both local and international artists. His journey from a small-town producer to one of the country’s most recognised DJs has inspired many upcoming musicians. News of his hospitalisation has sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry and among fans, with many flooding social media platforms to share messages of hope and prayers for his recovery.

DJ Poizen, whose real name was not immediately disclosed, was a rising star in the music scene and had recently begun making a name for himself through collaborations and live performances. His untimely death has left colleagues and fans mourning what many describe as a promising career cut short.

The South African music fraternity has been quick to express its grief and solidarity. Fellow musicians, producers, and promoters have extended heartfelt condolences to Poizen’s family while urging fans to keep Chymamusique in their thoughts during this critical period. Industry veteran Oskido described the incident as a “huge loss to the music community,” noting that both artists had contributed significantly to the vibrancy of South Africa’s house music scene.

Tributes have also poured in from fans who credit Chymamusique’s music with uplifting and inspiring them through difficult times. Many have also celebrated Poizen’s energy and passion for the craft, calling his death a tragic blow to the country’s creative talent pool.

Police have urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads, stressing that investigations into the circumstances of the crash are still ongoing. Funeral arrangements for DJ Poizen are expected to be announced soon, while updates on Chymamusique’s condition will be communicated by his family and management.

As the music industry grapples with the tragedy, supporters remain hopeful that Chymamusique will recover and continue the legacy he has built over the years. For now, South Africa mourns the loss of DJ Poizen while holding on to faith for Chymamusique’s survival.
