“He’s In Contact With Criminals Who Want To Harm Kids” EFF MP Exposes McKenzie

Businessman and political figure Gayton McKenzie allegedly had direct communication with persons who intended to harm children—and, most importantly, refused to notify law authorities, according to Economic Freedom Fighters Deputy President Godrich Gardee. What Gardee asserts People who intended to hurt the kids called him, but he told them, “No, don’t do it. I’m handling this.

He neglected to notify the authorities despite being in touch with criminals who intend to harm the children. The crime that will be performed against the children will include him as an accomplice. From potential criminal prosecution to negative publicity, such a claim could have far-reaching consequences. An accusation of hazardous vigilantism or obstruction of justice may be leveled against McKenzie if he knew he had received threats against children but chose to handle the situation himself instead of reporting them to police.

He was called by people who wanted to harm the kids & he told them “No, do not do it, I am handling this”. He is in contact with criminals who want to harm the kids & he did not inform the police. He is complicit to the crime that will be committed against the kids. https://t.co/R6WLawx0CS

A quick and unambiguous reply is of the utmost importance to McKenzie. Important details to clarify include his intentions, what he did after the interaction, and whether he tried to get help or protection from the authorities. And if no reports were submitted, why not? That is something that the police should address. To allay public fears, an investigation should determine whether or not McKenzie’s account is true and whether or not there was a failure to report.

Legal and political ramifications, including accusations of failing to report criminal threats, may be severe for McKenzie if the allegations are proven. Public opinion may cast doubt on McKenzie’s decision and on any measures meant to protect youngsters who are particularly vulnerable, and the EFF’s criticism of the decision is expected to heat up politically.
