BBMzansi housemate Mshini Lekwadu has addressed the viral direct message exchange between herself and award-winning rapper Emtee, setting the record straight about their interactions.

In an exclusive statement to South African Live, the reality TV star confirmed the authenticity of the leaked Instagram messages but stressed their professional nature. “My admiration for Emtee’s artistry was no secret in the Big Brother house,” Lekwadu explained. “When he acknowledged my support, I simply expressed interest in potentially working together – specifically discussing a music video feature.”

The leaked conversation, which began circulating earlier this week, showed the pair exchanging messages about potential collaborations in the entertainment industry. While some social media users speculated about a possible romantic connection, Lekwadu maintains their communication remained work-related.

“These were industry conversations between two professionals,” she clarified. “I respect Emtee as an artist and was exploring creative opportunities, nothing more.”

The former housemate expressed disappointment at the private messages being made public but took the incident in stride. “This is exactly why I was careful about what I shared in the house. Not every interaction needs to be sensationalized.”

Emtee’s representatives have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the leaked exchange.

As the story continues trending on social media, fans remain divided – with some applauding Lekwadu’s professional approach to networking, while others question the timing of the leak following her BBMzansi exit.

Lekwadu concluded by shifting focus to her burgeoning entertainment career: “I’m focused on building my brand and exploring all opportunities in this industry – professionally and respectfully.”
