Julius Malema Praised for Calming Heated Parliament Clash Between Khusela Diko and ActionSA

EFF leader Julius Malema is being widely applauded for defusing tensions in Parliament after a heated exchange between former presidential spokesperson Khusela Diko and an ActionSA representative.

The clash happened during a high-stakes debate on corruption and ethical leadership, where lawmakers were discussing government accountability. Witnesses say the dispute began when Diko allegedly interrupted an ActionSA member who was criticizing corruption scandals linked to state officials. Her response, perceived by some as dismissive, sparked murmurs of disapproval in the chamber.

As tempers flared, Malema stepped in, firmly calling for order. He reminded Diko to respect parliamentary rules and allow the speaker to finish. His intervention helped restore calm and refocus the debate, earning praise from across the political spectrum.

Analysts and social media users hailed Malema’s actions as a rare display of impartial leadership. “He showed maturity and respect for Parliament’s integrity,” one observer noted. Meanwhile, Diko’s allies defended her, saying her remarks were taken out of context.

The incident has renewed discussions about decorum in Parliament, especially as South Africa approaches a critical election period. Malema’s handling of the situation stands out in a political climate often marked by division—proving that even rivals can set an example of constructive debate.
