A violent ATM bombing and shoot-out occurred at a Sasol filling station in Standerton, Mpumalanga, early Thursday morning, leaving the community in shock.
Reports indicate that at least six armed suspects targeted the station, using explosives to blast open the ATM and the station’s safe. The attack caused major damage to the property.
Kasselman Security responded, leading to a shoot-out with the suspects. Fortunately, no injuries or deaths were reported despite the gunfire.
Authorities believe the group may be part of a larger syndicate responsible for similar ATM bombings in the area. The amount of money stolen has not yet been confirmed.
Police have launched an investigation and are asking the public for help. Anyone with information is urged to contact SAPS Standerton at 017 719 1250.
No arrests have been made, and the suspects remain on the run.
