North West businessman Brown Mogotsi has denied recent claims made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, which also implicated Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.

Mogotsi is linked to Mkhwanazi’s allegations that senior politicians and police officials were involved in the disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team in KwaZulu-Natal. The commissioner also claimed that Mchunu has close ties to Mogotsi and businessman Vusimuzi “CAT” Matlala, both alleged to have connections to criminal syndicates. Mogotsi operates several businesses in the North West.

Meanwhile, the Judiciary has stated that fighting corruption within its ranks remains a key priority. It warned that Mkhwanazi’s unproven claims could harm public trust in the courts if not backed by evidence.

Free State High Court Judge President and Judiciary Spokesperson Cagney Musi said, “No specific names were mentioned, nor was it clarified whether the allegations involve High Court or lower court judges. The reference was to an order from a Magistrate’s Court. People want to know the facts—who is implicated? I’m not saying the judiciary is perfect. If there is evidence, it should be presented.”
