The MK Party is mourning the sudden death of one of its members, Honourable Zamathembu Nokuthula Ngcobo, a Member of Parliament in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP). Her passing was confirmed in an official statement on Saturday, leaving colleagues and the public in shock.
Ngcobo, who served as KwaZulu-Natal’s permanent delegate in the NCOP, had only recently taken office. The party described her as a “selfless and dedicated freedom fighter” committed to justice and equality.
In a statement, the MK Party said: “Comrade Ngcobo was a humble servant of the people. Her work in Parliament had just begun, and her loss is deeply felt.”
The cause of her death has not been disclosed, leading to public speculation. While the party has asked for privacy for the grieving family, some are calling for more transparency, particularly given the current political climate following the elections.
