The SABC1 sensation Skeem Saam is set to deliver major drama in its upcoming 14th season, blending nostalgic returns with fresh talent.

Turfloop’s Original Slay Queen Returns
After a five-year absence, Lesego Marakalla reprises her iconic role as Rachel Kunutu, making her comeback on 10 June. “My supporters kept asking when I’d return,” Marakalla told journalists. “Playing Rachel again feels like coming home.”

Her reappearance reignites fiery tensions with on-screen husband Marothi (Macks Senatla), who returns on 13 June. Fans are already buzzing online, with one tweeting: “Rachel’s return is the best 2025 surprise!”

New Blood in Turfloop
The show introduces rapper-actor Tshepo “Howza” Mosese as mysterious new character Ghost, debuting 14 June. His casting adds fresh energy to the long-running soapie that has dominated South African TV since 2011.

With these dynamic changes, Skeem Saam proves it’s still the king of township drama, blending beloved legacy characters with bold new storytelling directions.

Catch new episodes weekdays at 18:30 on SABC1.
