South African podcaster Macgyver “MacG” Mukwevho has publicly apologized to media personality Minnie Dlamini after weeks of heated backlash over his controversial remarks about her.

The feud began when MacG made insensitive comments about Dlamini following her split from ex-boyfriend Brian Monaisa. His remarks sparked outrage, with critics accusing him of misogyny and even prompting calls for parliamentary intervention.

MacG’s On-Air Apology

During Monday’s episode of Podcast and Chill, MacG took accountability, issuing a direct apology to Dlamini and South African women at large:

“I want to apologize, first and foremost, to all the female listeners and women in general who I may have offended. That was never the intention. We don’t aim to hurt people.”

He extended an invitation to Dlamini to join him on the show, saying: “Minnie, you’re more than welcome to come. This started on the podcast—let’s end it here. We’ve both said things; let’s squash it for good.”

Mixed Reactions from Fans

The apology has stirred debate online, with some applauding MacG’s maturity while others remain skeptical:

  • @sibalkhulu__asande: “Why worry about MacG’s apology when Minnie’s case reached Parliament but other GBV cases don’t?”

  • @Mowele Shai: “These apologies lately are just ‘take it or leave it.’”

  • @Nozipho Lusekho Jantjies: “Hope this is the last time he mentions her name.”

  • @MamaKa Mbali: “They both said things—let them talk it out and move on.”

Will Minnie Accept?

Dlamini has yet to respond publicly. Given her previous stance—rejecting MacG’s initial apology and pursuing legal action—it’s unclear if she’ll accept the invite.

One thing’s certain: this drama isn’t over yet. Will the two finally bury the hatchet, or is this just another chapter in their feud? Stay tuned.
