Tickets for Saturday’s Nedbank Cup final between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have sold out online within hours of going on sale.

The highly anticipated match, set to take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium, saw a massive rush for tickets when sales opened at 10:00 on Monday morning. General admission tickets were priced at R150, but online stock was exhausted swiftly.

Fans can still check for availability at physical outlets, including Open Tickets, Shoprite, and Checkers stores nationwide. However, demand remains extremely high, with long queues reported at some locations.

This will be the second Soweto Derby in as many weeks after Pirates defeated Chiefs 2-1 in a sold-out league clash last weekend. The final presents Chiefs with a chance to end a 10-year trophy drought, while Pirates aim to secure their sixth piece of silverware in three years.

Moses Mabhida Stadium has a capacity of 56,000, but no official figures have been released on the number of tickets sold. The PSL had earlier limited purchases to four tickets per person to ensure wider access.

Hospitality packages may still be available for those seeking alternative options. With the match kicking off at 15:30 on Saturday, fans without tickets are urged to secure theirs soon before they sell out completely.

This marks the first Nedbank Cup final between the two rivals since the competition’s rebranding in 2008, adding extra significance to an already historic fixture.
