Mbuyiseni Ndlozi Prepares for PowerFM Debut, Sparks Debate After Sizwe Dhlomo Offers Technical Advice

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, a prominent lawmaker and former member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), is gearing up for his highly anticipated debut on PowerFM, set for March 3. However, ahead of his first appearance, seasoned radio host Sizwe Dhlomo stirred up a wave of mixed reactions across South Africa after offering some technical advice to the newcomer.

PowerFM recently shared a video on social media showing Ndlozi practicing for his upcoming show in the studio. In the clip, he can be seen enthusiastically dancing to Sankomota’s Fruits of Your Work, clearly excited about his new venture into radio broadcasting. The station captioned the video, “Preparations underway for Power Talk on March 3 with Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.”

The video caught the attention of Kaya 959 host Sizwe Dhlomo, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a quick tip with Ndlozi. Dhlomo pointed out a minor technical detail about how Ndlozi was wearing his headphones, suggesting that the cable should be switched to his left ear instead of his right.

“Cable goes on the left ear, doc,” Dhlomo tweeted. While the comment appeared to be a helpful suggestion, it sparked a heated debate on social media. Some users appreciated the advice, acknowledging the importance of technical precision in radio broadcasting. Others, however, felt Dhlomo was being overly critical or nitpicking, urging him to let Ndlozi learn at his own pace.

The mixed reactions highlighted the divide among social media users, with some defending Dhlomo’s expertise and others calling for patience as Ndlozi embarks on this new chapter. As the countdown to his debut continues, all eyes will be on Ndlozi to see how he adapts to the world of radio broadcasting.
