MK Party Members Reject Floyd and Mcunu Over Financial Scandal Allegations

Members of the MK Party have voiced strong opposition to Floyd and Mcunu serving as high command members, citing unresolved financial scandals involving substantial sums of money. Central to their dissatisfaction are allegations of missing funds totaling R66 million allocated for developmental projects in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and an additional R22 million in donations meant to support the party’s initiatives.

Grassroots members are demanding greater transparency and accountability, expressing frustration over what they perceive as a lack of decisive action from the leadership. “We cannot continue to trust leaders who fail to provide answers on such serious financial discrepancies,” said a member, speaking anonymously.

The R66 million, originally intended to fund developmental efforts in KZN, allegedly disappeared under unclear circumstances, provoking outrage among party supporters and the broader community. Likewise, the unaccounted R22 million in donations has raised further suspicions of financial mismanagement within the party.

A senior branch member criticized the leadership’s handling of the situation, stating, “We joined the MK Party to fight for the principles of accountability and integrity, not to witness the misuse of resources. If Floyd and Mcunu cannot explain where the money went, they have no business being in the high command.”

Amid mounting pressure, there have been widespread calls for an internal audit and disciplinary action against those implicated. Despite the escalating tension, the party’s leadership has yet to provide a detailed response, further aggravating concerns among its members. A source close to the national office acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations but urged patience, emphasizing the importance of following due process.

This controversy arises at a pivotal moment for the MK Party as it works to solidify its standing in the national political landscape. Members warn that the party’s failure to address the financial scandal could severely undermine its credibility and alienate its supporter base.

“Our unity depends on honesty and accountability,” stressed another member. “We cannot build a future on a foundation of mistrust.”

As the demand for clarity intensifies, the MK Party faces significant pressure to address the allegations, restore confidence, and reaffirm its commitment to the principles upon which it was founded.
