The Limpopo Department of Education has extended a heartfelt appeal to the Grade 12 class of 2024, encouraging learners to prioritize their emotional well-being as they anticipate their matric results. Acknowledging the high levels of stress that often accompany this critical period, the department is emphasizing the importance of seeking support to navigate the uncertainty.

In a statement issued today, department spokesperson Thabo Ramashi highlighted the emotional toll that this waiting period can impose on students. “The anxiety and uncertainty faced by learners can be overwhelming,” Ramashi said. “We urge students to reach out to support systems, including family, friends, and professional counselors, to help them cope with this challenging time.”

To ensure learners have access to the necessary support, the department has bolstered school-based counseling services and collaborated with community mental health programs. Additionally, the department noted the role of social media in providing access to resources and peer support but cautioned learners to remain mindful of the potential pressures and misinformation that can arise online.

Reassuring learners of the integrity of the results process, the department emphasized that a rigorous and fair review will accompany the release of results. “We understand how significant these results are for future opportunities,” Ramashi stated. “Every learner’s efforts will be thoroughly reviewed and properly acknowledged.”

As the matric class of 2024 waits for this milestone, the Limpopo Department of Education remains steadfast in its commitment to balancing academic success with the emotional health of students. By fostering a supportive and empathetic environment, the department hopes to ease the pressures of this pivotal moment and empower learners to embrace the next steps in their journey with confidence.
