Analyst Predicts Mbuyiseni Ndlozi’s Imminent Exit from EFF Amid Fallout with Malema

Prominent political analyst Professor Lesiba Teffo has weighed in on the growing speculation surrounding Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi’s future in the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), suggesting that the founding member is likely on the verge of leaving the party. Teffo attributes this to irreconcilable differences between Ndlozi and party leader Julius Malema.

“It’s evident that the relationship between Julius Malema and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has broken down irreparably,” said Teffo during a recent political forum. “Their ideological and personal differences seem too deep to mend, making Ndlozi’s departure from the EFF inevitable.”

Ndlozi, who gained prominence as the party’s first national spokesperson, has been absent from several key EFF events and activities in recent months. Reports have also emerged alleging that Ndlozi has submitted a resignation letter and has been informally suspended from participating in party committees. These developments have fueled rumors of a widening rift with Malema.

Leadership Tensions

Teffo argues that the fallout reflects broader structural issues within the EFF.

“The EFF thrives on dominant personalities, but when those personalities clash, the resulting fractures are difficult to repair. Ndlozi’s diminishing role signals a growing centralization of power around Malema,” Teffo said.

Observers note that the fallout comes at a critical time for the EFF, which has been grappling with internal dissent and notable defections. Ndlozi, known for his eloquence and intellectual rigor, has been a key figure in appealing to younger voters and providing ideological depth to the party’s positions.

“Dr. Ndlozi’s departure would be a major blow for the EFF,” Teffo added. “He represents a progressive voice and intellectual leadership that has helped the party stand out in South Africa’s political arena. Losing him could weaken the EFF’s credibility, especially among youth voters.”

Implications for the EFF

The EFF leadership has yet to comment on the speculation regarding Ndlozi’s future. Both Malema and Ndlozi have remained silent, leaving party supporters and political analysts to anticipate an official statement.

If Ndlozi exits the EFF, the question remains whether he will join another political organization, form his own movement, or step away from politics entirely. Any such move could reshape South Africa’s political dynamics, particularly as the country gears up for the critical 2024 elections.

For now, the silence from the EFF leadership only deepens the uncertainty, with many waiting to see how this potential departure will impact the party’s trajectory and its ability to navigate internal challenges while maintaining its position as a formidable opposition force.
