The revelation was made during Gininda’s testimony in the trial, where he detailed Khumalo’s alleged role as a mastermind behind the contractual killing.
Meyiwa was fatally shot a decade ago at Khumalo’s home in Vosloorus, a tragedy that has since led to five men being charged. According to Gininda, Khumalo’s involvement was identified through witness confessions, pointing to her possible orchestration of the attack. Gininda also testified that an arrest warrant application for Khumalo was filed in November 2020 but was not authorized.
The court heard about Khumalo’s past communication with two of the suspects, accused number three, Mthobisi Mncube, who is alleged to have been the shooter, and accused five, Fisokuhle Ntuli, who is said to have coordinated the plot.
