Julius Malema, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has denied conjecture that the party will dissolve its leadership structure in KwaZulu-Natal. Malema emphasized to the media that the current provincial leadership, which is led by Mongezi Thwala as chairperson and Nkululeko Ngubane as provincial secretary, will remain unaltered.

Malema unequivocally asserted, “We are not planning to dissolve the KwaZulu-Natal leadership,” thereby dispelling rumors that the province was being reviewed for restructuring. “We have complete faith in Mongezi Thwala and Nkululeko Ngubane, and we are of the opinion that they are making significant strides in the province in furthering the party’s agenda.”

KwaZulu-Natal has been a critical battleground for political influence in South Africa for a long time, and the EFF leadership has been attempting to establish a stronghold in the province. Malema expressed his satisfaction with the work of Thwala and Ngubane, recognizing their leadership as a critical factor in the party’s expansion in the region.

“The current leadership is not the cause of any problems.” “The work they are doing to mobilize and build the party is commendable,” Malema continued. “Our primary objective is to advance to the 2024 general elections, and KwaZulu-Natal is a critical component of our comprehensive strategy.”

In KwaZulu-Natal, where the party has been methodically expanding its presence, rumors of a potential leadership shakeup had sparked concern among EFF supporters. Nevertheless, Malema’s reaffirmation appears to have provided party adherents in the province with a sense of security and confidence.

Malema also encouraged the provincial leadership to persist in their efforts to engage communities and cultivate the party’s grassroots support. He emphasized that the EFF’s mission to combat poverty, unemployment, and inequality necessitates a unified front, particularly as the 2024 national elections approach.

Thwala and Ngubane are anticipated to persist in their leadership of the KwaZulu-Natal EFF in their endeavors to broaden the party’s influence in one of South Africa’s most politically competitive provinces, with Malema’s unwavering support.
