I’ve always been involved in ciphers and rap battles.” Gigi Lamayne wants to reclaim her throne

The return of Gigi Lamayne to her rightful place as one of the most formidable female rappers in South Africa is her goal with the release of her new single, “Come Outside.” A major milestone in her musical return, the song is a forceful protest against the mistreatment she has endured in the music business.

“I’m currently in a rebirth,” Gigi says, looking back on her rekindled drive and enthusiasm. In addition to establishing the mood for her comeback, “Come Outside” gives fans a sneak peek at her forthcoming project, which features promising newcomers to the hip-hop industry. Gigi is dedicated to constantly improving her craft and encouraging the artists of tomorrow, and this new perspective reflects that.

Gigi is highly dedicated to both her musical career and her business ventures. She became the owner of Sandton’s IV Vitamin and Therapy Lounge in December 2023. “It’s been going amazing,” she exclaims, her enthusiasm clearly visible. “I accomplished my lifelong goal of doing it before turning 30.” Her entrepreneurial spirit showcases her talent for juggling her love for music with her dreams of becoming a successful businesswoman.

A response to the criticism that has dogged Gigi’s career, “Come Outside” is her musical statement. “Just be yourself outside,” the song is essentially saying. “Don’t hide behind anything,” she says more clearly. She hopes that by sharing her mantra, she can inspire others to be themselves. Even though she knows better, Gigi still thinks it’s important to give hate speech a voice. “I’ve been exercising and establishing rapport, and now I’m at a point where I’m prepared to battle for my lifelong goal.”

Gigi’s participation in ciphers and rap battles throughout her hip-hop career has molded her into the artist and entrepreneur that she is today. I was able to launch my career as a businesswoman because of hip-hop. She asserts, “So this is basically to remind people that I’m still an artist,” demonstrating her resolve to combine her two loves.

Beyond her IV Vitamin Lounge, Gigi has ventured into several other ventures as a multi-faceted entrepreneur. Demonstrating her adaptability and ambition, she has worked with Uber, started her own shoe line, and produced a podcast. But she is also aware of the difficulties that come with being an entrepreneur. Artists like Dr. Dre, Nicki Minaj, and Jay Z have inspired me because they’ve done things their own way and built their brands. Women in Africa who were once considered artists but have since fallen from grace are my inspiration. It is high time that we put money back into our identities and brands.

Ahead of what promises to be an exciting future, Gigi is hard at work expanding her business and refining her brand via her music and podcast. Her electrifying live performances and innovative music will be showcased on stages around the world in the summer of 2025 when she sets out on a European tour. She teases, “We are preparing for an amazing tour into Europe,” hinting at future collaborations with her favorite artists and shares a sneak peek at her work in progress during her absence.

Gigi Lamayne is going to become a major player in the music industry and the business world thanks to her dogged persistence and entrepreneurial drive.
