A young learner from St Davids Marist Inanda, Desmond Koolen, has captured the hearts of many after going viral for his impressive accomplishments. The Grade 2 student was recently celebrated by his school for earning a remarkable 27 medals at the South African Championships of Performing Arts held last September.

Desmond won five gold, six silver, and four bronze medals individually, while also securing four gold, four silver, and four bronze medals in group performances. His achievements earned him a spot on Team South Africa, where he will compete at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles in 2025.

St Davids Marist Inanda, a prestigious boys’ school in Sandton, Johannesburg, frequently uses social media to showcase the accomplishments of its students. Desmond’s story quickly went viral, with many users on platforms like Twitter and Facebook applauding not only his talent but also his charming personality. One user commented, “He’s so cute his face is literally perfect. Well done young man.”

Desmond, sporting a blazer adorned with scrolls symbolizing his numerous awards, has become a source of inspiration, with netizens celebrating his brilliance and wishing him well for his future endeavors.
