“You Will Never Dictate Terms To Us Members Of ANC” – Panyaza Lesufi Fired Shot At Critics

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has issued a stern warning to those attempting to influence the African National Congress (ANC), declaring that the party will not be swayed by external forces or the media. In a fiery statement, Lesufi emphasized that the ANC remains united and not for sale, dismissing suggestions of fragmentation within the party.

Osksalayo you will never dictate terms to us members of the ANC. Never! You can bring all your media friends and media houses, the ANC is not for sale. The ANC is one. There’s no Provincial ANC nor local ANC, we are one ANC not a federal movement. https://t.co/NxP2HRK1mo

— Panyaza Lesufi (@Lesufi) September 29, 2024

The Premier’s statement comes amid growing concerns about the perceived influence of media and external actors on internal party dynamics. There has been increasing public debate regarding the divisions within the ANC, with some speculating that provincial and local branches operate independently of the national leadership. Lesufi categorically rejected such notions, insisting that the ANC functions as a single entity across all levels.

There’s no Provincial ANC nor local ANC. We are one ANC, not a federal movement, Lesufi declared, dispelling any claims of factionalism within the party.

Lesufi’s comments follow rising tensions within the party as it navigates both internal challenges and mounting public pressure. His remarks appear to be directed at those seeking to exploit potential rifts within the party for personal or political gain. In recent months, the ANC has faced criticism from opposition parties and civil society for its handling of governance issues, but Lesufi reaffirmed that the party’s unity remains its core strength.

The Premier’s bold stance reflects the ANC’s historical resistance to external manipulation, a principle that has long guided the party’s leadership. With the 2024 general elections looming, Lesufi’s firm message appears aimed at consolidating support and reinforcing party cohesion.

This is not a party that can be sold or controlled by outsiders. We remain guided by our principles and our commitment to the people of South Africa, Lesufi said.

As political tensions rise, Lesufi’s statement has been met with both support and criticism. However, his unwavering stance demonstrates the ANC’s resolve to maintain control of its narrative and direction.

The message is clear: The ANC will not be dictated to by media or external influencers, and its unity remains non-negotiable.
