Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, a beloved figure in South African media and the gospel music industry, has passed away at the age of 52. Known for her vibrant personality and dedication to her work, Zanele was not only a presenter but also a mentor and advocate for youth empowerment.

Her career began in 1995 on Ukhozi FM, where she quickly became a household name, affectionately known as “Mazetzet.” Her presence in the industry expanded to television in 1997, where she hosted various shows, including the popular “Gospel Gold” on SABC1.

In 1999, Zanele took her passion for media and events to the next level by founding Mirror PR and Events. This company specialized in event management, communications, and media strategies, reflecting her visionary approach to the industry.

Her deep love for gospel music inspired her to create the Crown Gospel Music Awards in 2007, which became a significant platform for recognizing gospel artists. Beyond the awards, Zanele was committed to nurturing talent, conducting workshops, and hosting talent searches, further cementing her role as a pioneer in the gospel music scene.
