Penny Ntul is a beautiful 27 year old multi talented Radio broadcaster, social media influencer, Event Facilitator and PR Specialist originally from Umlazi, Durban. The Facebook star surprised her supporters and followers when she posted a statement about the rumors of getting fire on Gagasi FM.

“Let me take this opportunity to breathe. I know that many times newspapers have written about my name, that I have lost my job. Firstly, I’d like to say that I did not approve what ‘Ilanga Newspaper’ published, I don’t appreciate the words they used on that particular article. To confirm the rumours, yes I am leaving work. It was time to renew contracts & I was given the opportunity to come back this season. I gladly accepted the new show until I was told that I’ll be getting paid R 2 800 p/my. Something not too far from what I was getting paid the past 2 years.

I felt insulted but I calmed down and went back to the management to ask them to review my salary. With that money I will not be able to do anything. I asked where will I be approved? Life will stop showing me my Payslip. I asked how will I feed my family with this money because they are all looking at me? Can they live with this money? I was not fighting. My manager Ayanda Melansi in the negotiations suggested I consider other things other than being ON AIR (this also killed my confidence heavily)

I then decided that I would ask them not to renew my contract this year. I didn’t stop because I found something better. I didn’t stop because I didn’t like it anymore, anyone who knows me knows how much I love broadcasting and how much I love Gagasi FM but it’s true I’m not coming back this year but despite that I am very grateful to Gagasi FM for the opportunity. By the way, for those Aspiring Presenters who’d love to go Commercial, there is space to shoot your shot.” Penny Ntulu posted on Facebook.
