In the last few hours or so, celebrated Kenyan singer Jacob Obunga alias Otile Brown has been making the headlines.

This is because of how he recently opened up about his former relationship with his Ethiopian ex-lover Nabayet alias Nabbi, and revealed some little known details about how he wanted to marry her but she refused.

In a post that he made on his Instagram stories on Friday, Otile Brown revealed that he tried to pursue her so as to make things work.

He even went to Ethiopia several times to try and convince her that they should be together, but all his efforts were futile.

“Nilimpenda sana Mu Ethiopia, nilitaka sana kumuoa ila kisa nilimuumiza sana kipindi cha nyuma alinikataa Mara kadhaa.

Zile trip za Ethiopia zote zilikua za kumbembeleza akubali nimuoe ila alikataa.

Lakini ata Mimi pia siku mpambania sana mana nilihisi amebadilika sio yule Mu Ethiopia nilie mjua, zile heartbreak na long distance pengine zilimkatisha tamaa…I had to take the L and let go…”.

Otile Brown further admitted that the decision to let Nabayet go was difficult, as he loved her so much as he felt that she understood him well.

The ‘Watoto Na Pombe’ hit maker also admitted that after the break up, he feared that he would not find someone else who understood him like the voluptuous scientist.

However he is now grateful that he has someone new who does.

Here are the posts that he made.

Nabayet reacts

Just hours after singer Otile Brown took to his Instagram account to accuse his Ethiopian ex-lover Nabayet alias Nabbi of refusing to marry her when they were together, the latter has broken her silence.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the voluptuous scientist made it clear that their relationship was just not meant to be.

Nabbi also said that even though she had let go of Otile Brown, she still had so much love and respect for him.

“Love can be really tricky at times. There are no easy answers. Even in darkened times, light lives on the other side. When it is in its purest & most profound form, love goes beyond the superficial. Their happiness and success will still please you even after you let go.

God gives God takes. We can only do our best and hope for the best 🤍” Nabbi said.

She added;

“So much love and respect to you”.

Otile Brown and Nabbi break up

Otile Brown and Nabbi actually broke up in January 2022, after dating for close to three years.

The singer was actually the one who announced their split at the time on his social media platforms, where he even said that they agreed to amicably separate.

“Nabbi and I are not together any more…The last time we were together was to try and figure out the way forward but we decided to go our separate ways unfortunately” he said.

At the time, Otile Brown also showered Nabbi with praises for being an amazing person, and further wished her the best in life.

“She is an amazing person and for that i will always respect her, care for her and be cool with each other. Wishing her nothing but the best moving forward” he said.
