In response to Ngizwe Mchunu’s claim that party chief Julius Malema is no longer welcome in KwaZulu-Natal, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the province have issued a stern reprimand.

A democratically elected leader, they adamantly maintained, could access any part of South Africa. The party stressed that Malema’s presence in KwaZulu-Natal is both necessary and lawful, and that the province remains a crucial arena for its political program.
Constant political disputes and divergent ideological viewpoints are supposedly the root causes of Mchunu’s remarks, which have sparked heated controversy. Conversely, the EFF cautioned that statements such as these could undermine democratic norms and fuel unreasonable divisions.
