Peter Shalulile is one of the most fiercest forwards that the DSTV premier league has witnessed in modern times. His ability to smell a goal and his killer finishing has elevated Mamelodi Sundowns to new heights.
Many Namibians were looking forward to seeing the prolific goalscorer set the AFCON competition ablaze, but failure to locate his goalscoring boots has seen Namibians change their tune on him.
“All Namibians can agree that this guy(Peter Shalulile) is the most useless guy on the field.”
“He is used to tap-ins, we call his likes “Bo Matsatsela”. Allende, Mokoena, Zwane are making his life easy at sundowns.”
“The next game he need to be benched. He doesn’t press or make runs.” Said the fans.
Over the past few years AFCON’s reputation had been in the mud for not only poor graphics, pitches and performances; but this edition of the competition has received widespread applause for its competitiveness among other things.
Players like Shalulile dropping “stinkers” should not come as a surprise as it has not been a fruitful competition for forwards. Players such as Napoli star Victor Osinhem, Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah, and Riyad Mahrez have all significantly performed below bar; and players who are leading the goalscoring charts are defenders.
Peter Shalulile was the star of the show during the qualifiers, and carried Namibia forward but his lack of fortunes infront of the goal posts is slowly seeing Namibians call for his head.
The Namibians has been rated highly by his club coach Rulani Mokwena, and many Mamelodi Sundowns fans largely credit him for their club’s complete dominance in the league. Hopefully he will turn up before for his home country before it is too late.
“You can send him back to Mamelodi Sundowns where he will be appreciated. Shalulile is the best striker playing on the continent” defended one fan.
