In a shocking incident on 8 January 2024, 41-year-old Bongeka Bidi became the victim of a targeted shooting while parked in her silver  Toyota Fortuner at the Strand municipal building. Reports suggest that an unidentified gunman approached her SUV, fired multiple shots through the driver’s window, and swiftly fled the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, leaving authorities and the community searching for answers. Bongeka Bidi, a resident of the area, was simply going about her day when this senseless act of violence occurred.

The silver  Toyota Fortuner, a common sight in the neighborhood, became an unexpected crime scene as the assailant targeted Bongeka Bidi. Eyewitnesses report hearing multiple gunshots, causing panic and confusion in the vicinity of the Strand municipal building.
