A man has drowned after he jumped off a pier at Durban Beach Front in Durban this afternoon.
At approximately 16:00 members of Durban Search and Rescue were dispatched to the scene after an emotional video that had been posted online, his friends watched him drowning as he failed to swim out of the water.
His friend could be heard calling the drowning man ‘uyahamba lomuntu manje’ hoping he would get out of the water.
Upon arrival it was established that Search and Rescue service entered the water and recovered the man’s body.
