The death of Mbongeni Ngema has left his wife, Nompumelelo Gumede-Ngema, heartbroken.

She recently penned a heartfelt letter to say goodbye to her late husband at his provincial funeral category two burial.

Ngema passed away in a horrific car accident and police have opened a culpable homicide inquest.

During the funeral, held at the International Convention Centre in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, Nompumelelo was accompanied by Vusimuzi Gumede, who read the emotional letter on her behalf.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Nompumelelo expressed her pain and disbelief at the finality of the situation.

In her letter, Nompumelelo struggled to accept that she would no longer see her husband walk through the door.

She described the days following his unexpected passing as a confirmation that this was not just a dream or a joke. She acknowledged that Mbongeni had truly found his peace.

Nompumelelo also spoke about the void left in her life after losing her husband. She described their 17 years of marriage as more than just a union, but a partnership filled with love, friendship, and guidance.

Mbongeni was not only her husband but also her best friend and mentor. He was the center that held everything together for her.

To conclude her letter, Nompumelelo expressed her gratitude to Mbongeni for his love and for being the person who completed her puzzle.

She acknowledged that he was a legend to many, but to her, he would always be her husband.

She thanked him for the years they spent together and for the impact he had on her life.
