WATCH: A tragic aftermath of a cash-in-transit robbery in eShowe

South African Police Service members are investigating a case of armed robbery after a cash-in-transit robbery toccurred in in eShowe, eMbongolwane.

This morning, 8 December 2023, a G4S armoured van was attacked and bombed by armed suspects in eshowe, an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen and the suspects fled the scene in a getaway vehicle.

The explosion left a devastating effect, three vehicles including the G4S armoured van caught fire and sustained serious damages. It is unknown at this stage if there were any fatalities or injuries at the scene.

South African Police Service members and other law enforcement agencies were dispatched to the scene and on arrival a case of armed robbery and malicious damage to property was opened.

A manhunt for the suspects has been launched, anyone with information that could lead to their arrest should contact the saps or report at the nearest police station.
