It is arguable that Mamelodi Sundowns is one of, if not the wealthiest and most successful footballing brands in South Africa in the age of the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The Chloorkop-based club, which is owned by billionaire mining mogul and CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, has surpassed the two heavyweights of Soweto, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, in terms of financial stability and is currently in first place.

The Brazilian team boasts a star-studded roster that routinely turns in outstanding performances in both domestic and continental football. As a result, they have been able to take home a number of the various trophies that are up for grabs. Now that we’ve established this, let’s take a look at the salary of the Mamelodi Sundowns players that earn the least.

What exactly is going on here?

Mamelodi Sundowns have re-signed Bongani Zungu on a free transfer, and he has signed a three-year contract with the club. This transaction took place during the current extended window period, which is scheduled to end on September 22. The product of the Dynamos Development Academy, which no longer exists, is now Mamelodi Sundowns’ highest paid player, according to an insider at the club, as reported by kickoff.com. This information was obtained from a source within the club.

According to this magazine, as disclosed by the source who has close relations to Mamelodi Sundowns, Andile Jali, Marcelo Allende, Peter Shalulile, and Gaston Sirino round out the list of the top five most paid players at the club.

In addition, it has been reported that the star attacker for the club, Themba Zwane, who has been consistently giving performances that win man of the match awards is set to be afforded a new lucrative contract that will see him become one of the highest paid players. This would see him become one of the highest paid players in the league.

Who at Mamelodi Sundowns makes the least amount of money each year?

According to the aforementioned publication, as disclosed by a source from Mamelodi Sundowns, junior players on the senior team who have been promoted from their youth ranks are the lowest paid players at the club. This information was provided by the source.

In addition to this, it has also been stated that these young geniuses are provided with a monthly stipend of at least R50,000.
