South African media personality Minnie Dlamini has recently shed light on allegations that she financially supported her estranged husband, Quinton Jones, during their marriage. This revelation comes in the wake of reports that Jones had requested a monthly spousal support of R10,000 from the television presenter-turned-producer.

In a candid interview on YouTuber Lasizwe Dambuza’s new show, “Awkward Dates,” Dlamini also confirmed that her divorce, which she initially announced in 2022, is currently underway.

During the interview, Dambuza humorously asked Dlamini if he could be her “Ben Ten” (younger boyfriend), to which Dlamini responded with a smile, saying, “I can totally do the rich auntie vibe.” She elaborated that she had been fulfilling this role for years, hinting at her financial support during her marriage.

The situation took a new turn when online news site Zimoja reported that Jones is seeking spousal support and custody of their child in the ongoing divorce proceedings. Minnie Dlamini and Quinton Jones had a high-profile wedding in 2017, shared with the public in a three-part series titled “Becoming Mrs. Jones.”

In February 2022, the couple jointly announced their decision to part ways, and in March 2023, Dlamini opened up about the challenges in their marriage during an interview with 702 presenter Relebogile Mabotja. She expressed how she felt the need to diminish herself within the relationship and shared her belief that a marriage should encourage personal growth rather than hinder it.

Dlamini’s honest and open discussion regarding her marriage and divorce serves as a reminder that even public figures face personal challenges and complex relationship dynamics. As her divorce proceedings continue, the public will likely follow this unfolding chapter in her life with interest. The interview sheds light on the complexities of relationships, and Dlamini’s story may resonate with others who have faced similar struggles.
