South African media personality Anele Mdoda is facing public criticism after her past tweets about corruption resurfaced online. This comes at a time when her husband, Bonelela ‘Buzza’ Mgudlwa, is linked to a controversial PPE tender scandal worth millions.

According to reports, Mdoda had previously spoken strongly against corruption on social media, calling out wrongdoing and demanding accountability. However, those same posts are now being widely shared again, with many people saying they have “aged badly” given her current situation.

The backlash follows news that Mgudlwa was ordered to repay over R14 million linked to irregular COVID-19 PPE contracts. The case has drawn national attention, especially because it involves public funds meant to help during the pandemic.

Social media users have questioned Mdoda’s silence on the matter. While she has not publicly addressed the allegations against her husband, many online users have pointed out the contrast between her past statements and her current position. Some critics accuse her of being outspoken only when it does not affect her personally.

Others, however, have defended the star, arguing that she should not be held responsible for her husband’s legal issues. They say it is unfair to expect her to comment on an ongoing matter that may involve legal processes.

The situation has sparked a wider conversation about accountability, public image, and the role of celebrities in speaking out on serious issues.

As the debate continues online, many are watching closely to see whether Mdoda will eventually break her silence.

This story highlights how past words can return in unexpected ways, especially when public figures face personal controversies.
