Played Mkhokha the Cursed in the film Mlungisi Mathe says it upsets him to learn that some viewers of the programme he’s acting in are outraged by Sbusiso’s behaviour and think he should be dismissed.
In Mkhokha: The Curse, Mlungisi portrays Sbusiso, a guise for Mkhululi (Nkanyiso Mchunu). He has stated that the calls for this actor’s dismissal from the show worry him more than anything else. A lot of people probably consider what we do as an accurate representation of who we are. Hearing that Mkhululi and his Ice guy Sbusiso must be sacked right now upsets me more than anything else. When I go shopping, I often hear individuals discussing just that. I don’t want anyone else to go through what they’re describing. This is also part of our job, and they need to keep that in mind. Mlungisi said that their comments amounted to a call for their dismissal from their jobs.
Despite this, the actor claims that the respect he receives from his fellow professionals serves as motivation.
He claims he gives his all to bringing joy to the audience whenever he plays Sbusiso.
He admitted that he has made a point of leaving his mark wherever he has performed. He puts it like this: “If I see that the place I will play will not fulfil this purpose, I would rather not enter it.” Previous roles include Emkay in Skeem Saam and Rythym City; his current part is Sbusiso in Mkhokha.
Mlungisi’s other talents include singing. As a musician, he goes by the name Skandi Kid. Do You Remember, Ng’qonmye, Chineke, Type Yam, Badumi, Malume, and many others are among his most well-known songs.
He has stated his desire to move on from acting and pursue a career in film production. He has produced theatre plays before, but he has stated that he will not begin the career of film producer.
